"Play" Concert Confusion

Contestant on Idol concerned..

There is an article out about Alice, one of the Swedish Idol finalists, who is concerned that the judges have already found their superstar - Janet Leon.

The singer Fanny Hamlin from Enskede, Stockholm, is something of an musical wonderchild. Only twenty years old and she’s already got a career behind her as an international teen star with the group Play, who were signed to the American Columbia Records, not to mention the legendary Tommy Mottola as manager. She got tired of her life as an idol in the US and moved back to Sweden to complete her interrupted gymnasium education (secondary education). As a side job, she’s also worked as a model.Presently, Fanny has put aside the idol career and is currently working with fashion in Whyred (a brand).

“At the moment, I’m just singing for fun with my friends, but I do intend to revive my idol career someday, and the goal is to be able to live on it, of course."

Fanny has been “extremely interested in fashion.” Lately, she’s been adjusted with a different attitude to fashion, which has also become her occupation.

“You get affected by the styles and it becomes different as you grow more familiar with it, even if I don’t follow the new trends obsessively. Getting snowbound (getting deeper) by what you’re doing with can easily happen as well, but I’ve always liked Whyred. Otherwise I like to doll myself up. I don’t own any jeans as I like to walk around in skirts and dresses – and chino pants. Folded chinos are my thing at the moment. It’s sort of gives the preppy look that I like that I’ll continue with for a while.”

Hey Ashley!

It's so hard to say stuff, with Laila and everyone being the Idol jury. They've got so much press on them all the time. What i can say is that there is going to be ALOT when everything finally comes out. We got enough songs for 3 albums (And they're all good:O) But we've kept pushing and pushing it, to get more hits. We're working up a storm that's gonna blow people away. (Don't mean to sound so kocky (or is it spelled cocky? it just feels like it's referring to something else than what i mean haha) I am soso happy that you guys are still around. I'm actually amazed by your incredible patience, since I know how easy it is to lose interest while waiting for things. So thank you for sticking with me!!! I love you all! You're not gonna be disappointed.

Swedish Idol Video Clips

From what I understand, Swedish Idol will premire this month on TV4 (maybe it already has?) - as I've said, it's hard to understand since I don't understand Swedish! lol. If someone wants to help out with what's on the site that is in Swedish, you can leave a comment on this post or e-mail me.

Play Mania has been archived!

Lately I have been receiving e-mails and messages about the old Play-Mania.com. There is a site called archive.org, where you can actually take a look at Play-Mania from it's beginning all the way up until last summer.

Though not all of the pages work the right way, a lot of information and pictures have been archived by this amazing "Way Back Machine." You can choose different years/months/days to look at.

Remember When?

Five years ago today, Play's sophomore album, Replay, was released. The girls also performed on Live! with Regis and Kelly, and it was also the last time I saw Play perform live with Faye here in New York. Can you believe it's been so long? I can't!

"If Only" Studio Version

Tricks Single - Kocky & Rosanna

I was on iTunes and found that Kocky and Rosanna actually released a single just for the song Tricks in October 2007. The Tricks single comes with three versions of the song: Tricks (Radio Edit), Tricks (Kocky & Trash Remix), and Tricks (Krames Club Remix).

On the Disney Cruise Ship in 2007, there was a performance of Hercules the Musical and they danced to a remix of Play's I Must Not Chase the Boys! Stadium Status Blog 2 - Oh! by Kocky

Kocky had posted this blog back in April, but he mentions Rosanna in it!! Here is the part of his blog that mentions her:

"Me and Rosanna wrote the song melody and lyrics in her ridiculously hot and humid appartment. At the time the both of us was very into Fergies "Glamorous", I (discovering the song a bit late I have to admit) loved the Polow the Don-produced original while Rosanna (of course) listened to some electro house remix. I wasn't crazy about the remix, but I liked the idea of mixing pop/rnb with a harder dance track.

Coming up with the lyrics was by far the most difficult part about writing the song, making it fun and "edgy" without being corny. I sincerely hope we pulled it off. Rosanna really put in effort, googling car models for the second verse."

Kocky actually has "Oh!" available on his Myspace, so if you want to add it as your Myspace song, you can! ;)

Rosanna on Kocky's new album, Stadium Status

Anais helps at LD2 Fashion Show

If you go to LimitedToo.se, there are a bunch of pictures from a Limited Too Fashion show in Sweden. There's also a picture on the site of Anais and another woman, and the Swedish caption under it says that they helped work the fashion show and they did a good job on it!

Lastly, I have uploaded a rare video of Play at soundcheck (with Faye) from 2003. This was the day Replay came out and they performed in Massapequa, New York. It's really cute and I think you guys will enjoy it! I've included the direct link to the video in case anyone wants to "favorite" it!
