Contestant on Idol concerned..

There is an article out about Alice, one of the Swedish Idol finalists, who is concerned that the judges have already found their superstar - Janet Leon.

Thanks to Ashley for e-mailing this to me and to FixYou on the Playful-Play boards for the find and English translation of part of the article.

If you would like to read the whole article please click the photo above!

English translation by FixYou:
"Tonight we'll know who will be in the finale of Idol 2008. But the jury has already found their Swedish superstar - 18 year old Janet Leon who's not even in the contest. Alice is now concerned that the jury is trying to get her out of the way of their own star."

'I know that they (the jury) doesn't want me to sing Pop and RnB songs. That's my style but that style is also Janet's so of course, they don't want me and Janet to have the same style,' says Alice."

And Laila says:
"That's the most stupid thing I have ever heard. It's a shame that she believes in rumours she hears. But of course, she is still young."

New Photo of Rosanna & Swedish Idol

Here is a picture of Rosanna that was found by Erika, owner of the Playful-Play boards! Thank you to Ashley from Classique for e-mailing it to me!

Also, how many of you guys have been watching or keeping up to date with Swedish Idol? I believe there are only 3 contestants left now! Of course we can't watch it here in the states, so I check the web site to see what's going on.

I still think it was so great that Laila was a (quite big) part of this! :)

The campaign starts today, November 26th, and MQ is hoping for good response. The single will be available for downloading and money will be given to Röda Korset (The Red Cross)."

Fanny Hamlin on MQ

Faye is featured in yet another MQ commercial, and her biography can be found on their website. Click here to check it out!

Here is somewhat of an English translation of the article.

Fanny Hamlin

"I want to give my family good health so that they’ll always be healthy and stay close to me”

The singer Fanny Hamlin from Enskede, Stockholm, is something of an musical wonderchild. Only twenty years old and she’s already got a career behind her as an international teen star with the group Play, who were signed to the American Columbia Records, not to mention the legendary Tommy Mottola as manager. She got tired of her life as an idol in the US and moved back to Sweden to complete her interrupted gymnasium education (secondary education). As a side job, she’s also worked as a model.Presently, Fanny has put aside the idol career and is currently working with fashion in Whyred (a brand).

“At the moment, I’m just singing for fun with my friends, but I do intend to revive my idol career someday, and the goal is to be able to live on it, of course."

Fanny has been “extremely interested in fashion.” Lately, she’s been adjusted with a different attitude to fashion, which has also become her occupation.

“You get affected by the styles and it becomes different as you grow more familiar with it, even if I don’t follow the new trends obsessively. Getting snowbound (getting deeper) by what you’re doing with can easily happen as well, but I’ve always liked Whyred. Otherwise I like to doll myself up. I don’t own any jeans as I like to walk around in skirts and dresses – and chino pants. Folded chinos are my thing at the moment. It’s sort of gives the preppy look that I like that I’ll continue with for a while.”

A huge thank you to TayTay for e-mailing me the information and the translation, and to Mae for the updated English translation and link!

Some news about Janet's album..

Ashley, the owner of Classique (a fansite for Janet), has received some news from Janet herself about her upcoming album!

Hey Ashley!

It's so hard to say stuff, with Laila and everyone being the Idol jury. They've got so much press on them all the time. What i can say is that there is going to be ALOT when everything finally comes out. We got enough songs for 3 albums (And they're all good:O) But we've kept pushing and pushing it, to get more hits. We're working up a storm that's gonna blow people away. (Don't mean to sound so kocky (or is it spelled cocky? it just feels like it's referring to something else than what i mean haha) I am soso happy that you guys are still around. I'm actually amazed by your incredible patience, since I know how easy it is to lose interest while waiting for things. So thank you for sticking with me!!! I love you all! You're not gonna be disappointed.

Happy Holidays to you too! It's snowing outside my window, it's so beautiful

♥ J

Thanks Ashley for sharing this with us! :)

"Janet Leon i studion med Wyclef Jean"

There is an article about Janet on the web site, hotgossip.se. I don't know what the article says since it's in Swedish, but it was posted on October 23rd of this year, so I figured it's pretty recent! If anyone would care to translate this, please e-mail me or leave a comment on this post! The English translation of the article is below!

Click the photo below to go to the article.

*Emily was nice enough to translate the article to English for us!
Thank you so much!

"Janet Leon was formerly with the Swedish girl group Play, which was produced by Laila Bagge. Laila is familiar in this year’s Idol jury.

Now Laila along with Anders Bagge and Andreas Carlsson have formed a new company in which Janet is a solo artist, states Metro (name of company).

Many say she is projected to become another great female international mega star and online, there are clips showing Andreas Carlsson, together with Janet, while she works together with Black Eyed Peas producers and sings acapella with mega star Wycelf Jean.

According to Metro, they do not want any of the Idol-Jury to talk about Janet yet, so to avoid losing focus on this year’s participants in Idol."

Swedish Idol Video Clips

From what I understand, Swedish Idol will premire this month on TV4 (maybe it already has?) - as I've said, it's hard to understand since I don't understand Swedish! lol. If someone wants to help out with what's on the site that is in Swedish, you can leave a comment on this post or e-mail me.

But if you go to http://www.expressen.se/noje/idol, you will be able to view videos of Laila, Anders and Andreas and parts of Swedish Idol. The direct link to the videos is: http://www.expressen.se/webb-tv/index.html?serialid=11598.

I just finished watching a few clips, and they are really funny - they obviously talk in Swedish but the auditioners sing in English! haha. :)

Don't forget to check tv4.se/idol for all things Swedish Idol.
